What does success look like at Pinnguaq?
● Engaging with thousands of young learners and adults across the country through the delivery
of community-centred workshops
● Designing and deploying interactive experiences, online learning modules, and maker kits to
teach STEAM fundamentals to all ages
● Publishing the nationally-recognized Root & STEM magazine, create a space to explore diverse
voices and stories in STEAM
● Operating makerspaces in Nunavut & Ontario providing hands-on access to tools, equipment,
and training for inquisitive minds and makers
Position Summary:
Pinnguaq is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented People and Culture Administrator to
support the growth and development of our team. The People and Culture Administrator will play a
crucial role in the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing support of our employees, as well as
coordinating learning and development events. Additionally, this role will involve assisting in securing
wage subsidy grants to support our workforce expansion. The ideal candidate is a resourceful and
proactive individual who is passionate about fostering a positive workplace culture, ensuring the
success of our team members, and helping us access financial support for our employment initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
● Draft, maintain, and update employment contracts, ensuring legal compliance and clarity.
● Manage the initial stages of the onboarding process for new employees, including preparing
welcome materials and ensuring a smooth transition into the organization.

● Plan, schedule, and coordinate learning and development events, including booking event
spaces, securing trainers, and managing logistics.
● Assist in identifying, applying for, and managing wage subsidy grants to support the hiring and
retention of employees, ensuring compliance with grant requirements.
● Coordinate employee health benefits and RRSP programs
● Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.
● Support initiatives to enhance employee engagement, well-being, and morale within the
organization.
● Assist in the offboarding process, including exit interviews and ensuring the return of company
property.
● Contribute to the development and promotion of a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
